About Charlie S.
A multi-instrumentalist with a music performance and teaching degree from the Aaron Copland School of Music, Charlie Schmid is a music instructor with a non-traditional pedagogical style. With over 15 years experience designing intuitive curriculum and musical methodologies for students of all ages, Charlie teaches guitar, bass, drums, and piano with each individual' s needs in mind. Charlie has performed at Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music, as well as countless other venues around the world with pop, rock, avant garde and performance groups. When he's not playing with one of his many bands, Charlie is the dedicated and enthusiastic director of percussion for the
United Nations International School. He previously served as the director of the CPSM pre-college program at Queens College and as director of percussion at Holy Cross High School.
