Teaching since:

I'm Charles Wood. I have been playing the 5-string banjo for 38 years and have been teaching for 35 years. I specialize in beginner lessons but teach intermediate and advance lessons as well. I teach the three finger style of playing focusing on traditional Scruggs style and material first and progressing to other genres as the student advances. I perform extensively throughout the southeastern US and have won the Winfield National Banjo contest twice. I have performed with Earl Scruggs and Steve Martin on Late Night With David Letterman. I have performed in Europe several times and taught at the Munich Banjo Camp. I enjoy teaching students of all ages.
