I love music and I love to teach! My first experiences with music instruction were incredibly positive and since then I have wanted to pass that experience on to others. I have spent five years teaching privately with great success. I hold the Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts in Teaching degrees and have received extensive training at the Army School of Music. My experience has benefited each of my students in unique ways and I look forward to working with you! *** Lesson Details *** My teaching style is laid back. Each lesson is individually tailored to the needs of the student and their ability levels to both encourage and challenge them. If you are unfamiliar with how to read music, I can teach you that and I have had great success teaching my students. The most important thing is that you develop through music. This is not a "technique all the time" kind of approach. My students have the opportunity to learn to fully express themselves and to, hopefully, reach a deeper understanding of themselves. I can break down the music into it's component parts, ie: phrases, overall structures, harmonic progressions. This allows me to pull out the deepest expression in music to add the "frosting" to the music. I am fluent in all styles and I am ready to help you to your goal!
