My name is Charley and I teach guitar, bass, and ukulele for rock, pop, folk, country, blues, and worship music. I've been playing for 36 years, and teaching for 14 years. I love to teach people to play music and especially to teach them to play songs by their favorite artists!
Great instructor for children.
Got some good input on how to improvise on songs
My son is so excited for his next lesson. His response after his first lesson was "Boy, that went fast. He's really nice. Can't wait for next week!"
So thankful and blessed!
He took extra time when we first started to find out where my daughter was at in her skill and ability, made a book and plan for her, and the took extra time each week to answer every question and really try to teach her effectively. She enjoyed it and wanted to go because she was learning and improving. She even started to appreciate the homework he gave. Will definitely consider him again if the logistics work out.Show More
Charley is extremely patient and is very aware of Addison's ability and teaches at a pace perfect for her.
Charley is very kind to my 13 year old. Cameron is excited to continue learning the base guitar
Charley's instruction was awesome! After a series of lessons 3 years back I decided to recommit to the guitar with an emphasis on praise music for use with Children and the Mission Field. Charley's laid back style and modern teaching techniques were just what I needed, he's a real pro!Show More
Friendly, informative, helpful, great teacher. My daughter is really looking forward to practicing and learning more
I started lessons with Charley when I was 7. He was very kind and patient with me as a young beginner. I highly recommend Charley.
Charley is a gifted musician, as well as a patient and encouraging instructor. Personally he is a man of character, integrity and faith and a real pleasure to be around. We would highly recommend him to anyone considering guitar lessons!!!
My son has been taking lessons from Charley for about 6 months now. Charley is very patient with my pre-teen. My son started as a true beginner, not even knowing exactly how to hold a guitar, and now he loves playing. I have been very surprised and pleased with his progression. Charley comes very highly recommended!Show More
I have known Charley for over 20 years and have long enjoyed his mastery of the guitar, both acoustic and electric. My son took lessons on both types of guitar for ~5 years while he was in his teens. Charley's patience and willingness to adapt lesson styles of music to his student's preferences greatly enhanced our son's interest in his lessons (as well as his willingness to practice). Thanks Charley!Show More
I have known Charley for quite a few years now. He has taught three of my sons to play guitar, both acoustic and electric. Charley himself is a very good guitar player. But it is his easy going personality and the way he relates to the kids that make him the best guitar teacher we could have ever had. My sons have their own band that plays out in public and they are all on worship teams. They have also played at multiple youth conferences in Ohio and North Carolina. I highly recommend him for all children and adults.Show More

Charley's expertise and knowledge has helped my son progress significantly with both the acoustic and electric guitar. My son loves going to his lesson each week because Charley relates so well to kids, patiently teaches him new skills and helps him with music he playing for his band. We highly recommend Charley--he has fostered and encouraged my son's love for guitar.Show More
I always wanted to learn how to play the guitar so in between a tour with the United States Air Force I heard about an opportunity to learn from Charley and I pursued it. I literally just picked up the guitar and didn't know the chords very well so I didn't know what to expect. When I met Charley, I realized that these next would of weeks were going to be awesome! He was very personable and flexible with my schedule, he was always willing to help and he had patients, which was very important to keeping my drive to play guitar. On top of having a great character, he was an amazing guitar player and extremely musically talented! I recommend his expertise one-hundred percent for all levels, it has given me a great base to playing the guitar. Hats off to his patients with me!! Highly recommend him!!!Show More
I decided to start learning the acoustic guitar at age 50 with just a love for the instrument's sound and no guitar and no previous lessons. Charley was wonderful from the very beginning. He met at a used guitar store where we spent over 2 hours checking out the guitar inventory to find the best one for me. Wow, who spends that much of their personal time to help someone that they just met? Well, that's Charley ... a kind, giving person who enjoying helping people and loves music. The subsequent informal and fun lessons have turned me into a "good" guitar player. Many more lessons are needed, and Charley will always be there to help me improve. Thanks Charley.Show More
