Hello, my name is Chandra M. and I am a recent graduate at Butler University. At Butler, I majored in Music Performance- violin and Chemistry, Over the years, I have really enjoyed teaching individuals the art of violin as well as dance. I began violin and dance at the age of three and have continued both of them beyond the collegiate level. I am very experienced in teaching young children to older adults. No matter the age, start learning! You won't regret it! As a music performance major, I am very comfortable teaching as well as performing and giving advice on what to do when it's time to hit the stage! I have performed the National Anthem at many Butler Basketball games as well as for the Indianapolis Colts. I have soloed with Butler Symphony Orchestra and The Evansville Philharmonic. Currently, I travel all around the country for group and solo gigs. I have played for Rod Stewart multiple times, Bella Electric Strings and for Christian Teal. I was trained classical by the "Suzuki Method," but also can teach the traditional way as well. My job is to create a fun and exciting learning environment for my student and to teach them based on how they respond to different techniques. Please join me on a wonderful ride to becoming a successful performer. *** Lesson Details *** Depending on the age and dedication of the student, the lesson can be directed in many ways. Not every person learns the same so I have a personalized approach for every individual. Usually, the student will start out with scales and technique (ranging from 10-15 min) Using technique books is extremely important in order to acquire good habits and skills that can be used when learning repertoire. After technique would be repertoire. This is a piece that the individual either chooses or is given based on their level of training. Lastly is sight reading by playing fun duets. This is a fun way to practice sight reading while also learning to play with another musician. *** Studio Equipment *** Practice rooms, seating for parents, piano, mirror, *** Travel Equipment *** I would provide books as well as recordings and videos. *** Specialties *** I can specialize in any genre. I am experienced in teaching the traditional method as well as the Suzuki method.
