Hello! I began studying the violin at age 12 in my middle school orchestra and has been playing ever since (21 years!). I received my Bachelor’s and Master's Degrees in Music Education from the University of South Florida. I have been teaching professionally in the classroom since 2010, and am currently the Orchestra Director at a local middle school. Currently, I also conduct and teach for the Sarasota Youth Orchestras and am a part of the faculty of the Sarasota Orchestra’s Summer Music Camp (I am also alumni of this program!). I proudly serve as the District Chair for our area for the Florida Orchestra Association, and is an active member of the Florida Music Educators Association. Along with my love of teaching music, I also perform my violin in the area at various events in my community.
Because of the vast amount of classical repertoire that's been written for the violin, I mostly focus on these types of pieces with a focus on technique (so you can be the best player possible). However, I there is an awesome amount of literature that is just fun (fiddle, pop, etc.) so I am here to help and teach you with those types on genres as well!
