I taught two students, 7 and 9 years old, the basics of piano and took them from never having played to performing. Both students still play the piano to this day.

I want to teach them how it can be used as a form of self expression, and how to make that beautiful. However, I am firm about the importance of practice.

Hello! I'm Catherine, I live in LA and I have played piano since I was 5. I hated it for about the first 10 years, but as I got older I found more peace within myself and the music became a chance to express myself. Branching outside of classical into modern and jazz styles helped me grow myself as a performer and someone who still plays 20 years later. I hope to help you find the same peace and love for playing music that I had, and understand the value of stubbornly practicing so that you can get that muscle memory!
