I worked at a research MRI laboratory which investigated quantitative MR imaging techniques in the diagnosis and monitoring of liver disease. I was responsible for analyzing and acquiring data from the images. I also helped build and maintain a database, with statistical analysis, and drafting academic journal articles.

I have tutored both middle school and high school level Algebra for about 6 years. I like to think of Algebra and math in general as concepts to be understood and not merely rules to be memorized. I also like to encourage independent or out of the box thinking. Remember there is never only one way to solve a problem! I happy to say that I have been able to ease my students' frustration with difficult subjects and help them achieve their academic goals.

Hi there, my name is Catherine. I have a B.S. in Physics from UC Riverside and about 3 years of research laboratory experience, 2 of which were at the UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest. I have been a personal tutor for middle school and high school students off and on since about 2010. For me it is the most rewarding experience to help students understand difficult concepts through discussion and practice. I do my best to help make math and science clear and more importantly interesting. I am an easy going and flexible person who tries to teach through discussion and if possible practical application of concepts.
