With over 10 years of experience teaching, and over 20 years of experience playing, I guide students of many ages to play confidently while enjoying the process of creative music making. Lessons are held in a dynamic atmosphere, focusing on building the fundamental technique of the flute and/or the piccolo while also allowing the student to reach his or her full potential as a strong musician. A beautiful sound, fluid scales, interpretation, artistry, and an overall awareness of other musicians are important aspects in the journey to becoming an artist! My students have consistently performed regularly, competed, and received honors in competitions. I am a Houston native and have performed in orchestras throughout the country including the Brevard Music Center, the Hot Springs Music Festival, the Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra, the South Dakota Symphony, the Southeast Symphony, the Tanglewood Music Center and the Texas Music Festival. I have lots of orchestral experience and have played under notable conductors including Charles Dutoit, Keith Lockhart, Andris Nelsons, Carl St. Clair, and MIchael Tilson Thomas. Currently, I am a Finalist and substitute for the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida.
