Hi there! My name is Catherine. I am a Neuroscience student at Bucks County Community College, minoring in fine arts. I'm a practicing artist experienced with traditional observational drawing techniques as well as illustration, oil painting, acrylic painting, watercolor, and colored pencil. Topics we can cover include, but are by no means limited to: Landscapes, figure drawing & painting, gesture drawing, still life, color theory, composition, plein air (outdoor) painting, museum observational skills, portfolio prep, and more! I use a very hands-on, interactive approach to learning different techniques, and can adjust to any level of student. I've studied at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, as well as the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. My tutoring experience includes three semesters of work-study at Moore, where I was a teaching assistant to elementary schoolers while taking weekend classes, as well as three years of work-study with the DeNogla Irish Dance School, again as a teaching assistant. I also have professional training experience as a face painter teaching techniques to new employees. I'm passionate about helping students of all ages improve their work and explore the arts! Whichever level you or your child are at, whether you're art school-bound or a hobbyist, I can help you expand your artistic horizons. I'm dedicated to providing a fun, interesting learning experience to all! I have been studying art my entire life, and am a practicing artist. My work has been shown at student shows at Moore College of Art and the Maryland Institute College of Art, and in juried exhibitions at Art All Night Trenton and Bucks County Community College.
