    About Carter W.

    Carter Woosley is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Bass Trombone Performance at the University of Louisville. He studies with Dr. Brett Shuster, and has had additional studies with Dr. Bryan Heath, as well as Jay Friedman, Michael Mulcahy, and Charlie Vernon of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Currently, he is performing with the Louisville Civic Orchestra and the Cardinal Brass Band, as well as playing the Contrabass Trombone with the University of Louisville Trombone Ensemble. He has performed with the Louisville Philharmonia on Tenor and Bass Trombone and Euphonium, and the Commonwealth Brass Band on Tenor and Bass Trombone. He was also a member of the 2019 Forecastle Symphony, directed by Teddy Abrams. He has attended the Inaugural Santa Fe Trombone Summit in 2019, and the DC Trombone Workshop in 2019. He was a finalist in the 2019 University of Louisville Concerto Competition. In Addition, Carter is an active freelancer in the Louisville and Southern Indiana Area, playing in several local Big Bands and Musical Theater organizations including CenterStage. He also maintains a small private studio, and teaches Brass at Maxwell’s House of Music. He has previously taught sectionals at Westport Middle School. He teaches beginner to advanced students on Trumpet, Tenor and Bass Trombone, Euphonium, and Tuba
