Piano with Carrie T.

I began music lessons when I was 5. My piano teacher was probably close to 80! The at the age of 10 I began violin (I had to beg)! And in junior high I learned tenor saxaphone in order to play in the school Marching and Concert bands. I sang in church choir and junior high choir. I lived and breathed music. The same has been true for me as an adult. My B.M.E. Was earned at Central Methodist University. In 1983 I received a Master degree in violin performance.I have performed on violin, piano and viola. Conducted many youth group orchestras, and taught students of all ages for 40 years now. My dog Beau likes music (especially the violin) so much that he sings while I play. Learning new things about music excites me.....new literature, new things about the music industry and technology and researching the composers whose ideas and beauty I love to share. Chamber music and playing in orchestras has occupied most of my spare time for many years. It is so fantastic to play so many composers works, ideas and feelings. Teaching others how to do this is my great joy. It is always a beautiful thing to share the music you are learning with others both as a part of the great community and person to person. I do love to swim, take walks with Beau, enjoy nature and be a support to my outstanding friends, some of whom are musciains.
