I am a professional Broadway actress, having performed the role of Elphaba in the hit musical "Wicked" on Broadway and throughout the United States. I have been fortunate to have traveled the United States, Canada and Asia with multiple touring productions as well. I perform as a guest entertainer singing my own show on board major Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Disney Cruise Lines most recently. I began my studies in voice as a young girl in my Grandmother's voice studio in Chicago. I went on to focus on classical music at Interlochen Arts Academy and then Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. I finished my Bachelors Degree at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, choosing to switch my focus from classical music to musical theatre. I also hold a Masters Degree in Theatre Education from NYU's Steinhardt School of Education. I have a 40 hour voice teaching certification through New York Vocal Coaching. I am extremely passionate about singing and have been teaching for almost 10 years. Having started in the world of classical music, my expertise is helping my students develop a solid foundation with which to sing any style of music from. I think it's important that students sing the music that brings them joy so we work on anything from pop/rock/country to jazz to musical theatre. Singing should be an enjoyable experience, therefore I encourage my students to be bold and fearless while we enter into the world of effortless singing! All sounds (cracking, quacking, laughing and crying) are welcome in my studio. Singing can be a huge emotional release at first and I am here to guide you through this journey. Beginners welcome.

I am an actress and martial artist but have been wanting to overcome performance anxiety, including singing in public that I have dreamed of adding to future performances. Carla is so wonderful to work with. She is very understanding, nurturing and is able to explain things in a way that help me understand how to create the right sound. I have been finding this has eased my anxiety in performing not only with singing but in acting and has helped improve my way of speaking. Carla has opened my eyes to how my head, voice, but more importantly breathing are all related. I'm finding myself becoming more self-aware and find it absolutely amazing! I am very grateful to have been referred to Carla and highly recommend working with her.

Carla is a phenomenal voice teacher. Her extensive knowledge and her technical prowess make her an ideal teacher for anyone struggling with their technique. She takes the time each lesson to get to know you and what your voice needs. And perhaps most importantly, Carla makes voice lessons fun! From silly (and helpful) vocal exercises to new rep suggestions, learning from Carla has helped me find joy in singing again. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned profession looking for a tune up, I highly recommend spending some time with Carla Stickler.
