When meeting new students, my first priority is finding out what their short- and long-term goals for their particular course may be and then working with them to determine how best we can meet these goals. Whether it is to review large portions of a particular course or only a particular area, I am available to help with these needs. My teaching approach is relaxed and laid-back, while being results-driven. Many people I have worked with in the past have had many negative experiences with mathematics tutors or instructors and have have developed math anxiety because of this. My relaxed approach to teaching helps students overcome this anxiety and realize their full academic potential.
I have worked with mathematics students from middle school through undergraduate level, including non-traditional students pursuing coursework in developmental mathematics. My undergraduate degree is in Mathematics, with minors in Statistics and Physics.
