Hello! I started private violin lessons myself when I was nine, after begging my parents for two years to let me try. They finally caved, and I was in love! I learned through the Suzuki Method until completion when I was 14, then I moved on to more difficult repertoire. I took lessons all through high school and eventually graduated from college with a Bachelor's of Music degree in violin performance. My teaching philosophy has always been that anyone, child or adult, can learn to play an instrument. It isn't so much talent as it is hard work! Throughout the years, I've grown to realize that not everyone learns the same way, and so I have continuously tailored my teaching approach to each individual student and I challenge them based on what their goals are. My favorite part about teaching is watching a student's face light up when they've been struggling through something and it suddenly clicks. It's the most beautiful thing, and so satisfying! When a student of mine realizes that they can make music, and that their hard work has paid off to make good music, that's when the magic happens, and they unlock so much potential. This inspires me to keep doing what I love, and I hope to share it with as many people as possible!
