Do you want to have fun? AND learn piano? Then I am the piano teacher for YOU! I've learned tricks of the trade, secrets of playing (that I'll only share with my students) and have lots of great ideas of how to help you achieve your goals. The process of learning to play piano, or continuing to improve your skills, can be just as much fun as the end result! We've all read how good for the brain playing piano is...using left and right sides...concrete and abstract...but let's not forget the FUN factor! I'm lucky to be able to do what I do and I can help you be so lucky, too! I took piano lessons for 19 years and can play (and teach) classical, pop, rock, jazz, theory and composition. I've been teaching piano to students from 3 years old to 85 and they've all enjoyed themselves. I've also had quite a bit of experience in teaching people with a variety of special needs. There is so much benefit to learning and playing the piano for all of us, but you can only imagine how great it is for people who have special needs. Teaching piano is my passion and I'm excited to share it with everyone.

I started lessons with Candy in early elementary school and continued through high school. The skills I learned in piano lessons were foundational for all my music skills as I later learned to play the flute, and majored in voice in college. After 13 years as a professional music educator myself I know that the skills learned at Candy’s piano, both musical skills and teaching technique were formative for me professionally and personally. She is positive, patient, encouraging and committed to determining the learning styles of her student. Given the option, I would give her more than 5 stars.

Candy is sweet as sweet can be! She has always been so patient with my daughter who has some physical limitations as well as sensory issues. When time came for the recital, Candy gave her the confidence she needed to get up and play in front of all those people. My daughter won't ever play piano with me she, but always enjoys going to play with Miss Candy!

Over the almost three years that I have been taking lessons with Candy, I have learned many new things about playing piano. She always makes it a positive experience and not only has me play the songs from the book, but also lets me learn some songs that I choose. Also, she is funny and always makes me laugh. Overall I would rate Candy 5 stars without question.
