Cello with Caleb Y.

Caleb is passionate about music education and working with students of all ages and levels. He has been invited as a guest to lead improvisation workshops, including for undergraduate and graduate level cello performance students at UCLA. His teaching methods are inspired by his classical training and professional experiences with improvisation, jazz, and other commercial styles. He has coached classical chamber ensembles and youth orchestra sectionals, and is prepared to help students musically and technically approach important solo, chamber, and orchestral literature. In addition to a classical education, he hopes to help his students engage with music and equip them with tools to be uniquely creative and expressive. Whether they want to play at church or in a band, Caleb can help them become comfortable and confident playing music off the page. He recently became a certified O’Connor Method teacher, and has been on the teaching faculty of the O'Connor Method String Camp. He has taught at the Virtual O'Connor Method String Camp, and will teach string improvisation at Ces’t Bon Chamber Music Academy in the Summer of 2021.
