- Teaching since:
I've been teaching lessons for 5 years in the North Florida and NYC areas. My specialties include jazz improvisation, composition, arranging, songwriting, and trombone technique. I'm also qualified to teach beginning brass for all ages.
Our experience together will include student-lead lessons, meaning I like to cater every lesson to your needs and curiosity. I have an open mind and ears, and want to make sure you are getting exactly what you need out of our lessons.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies from Florida State University ('14), and a Masters Degree in Jazz Trombone from the Manhattan School of Music ('16).
I have performed on cruise ships, at Disneyland, and at jazz clubs around New York City, including at the prestigious Jazz Standard with the Charles Mingus Big Band.
In 2016 I attended the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead composition program as part of the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts.
I also manage and book for the NYC Party Band, a wedding/event band in the tri-state area.
My teachers have included: Jan Kagrice, Luis Bonilla, Paul McKee, Marcus Roberts, Wycliffe Gordon, Jason Moran, and Andre Hayward.
I hope we can create some amazing music together!
