As a trombonist, I haven't taken a lesson from Cade. However, I've had this distinct pleasure of sitting in front on him in my Jazzed Up Big Band and other big bands. If you want to have a nice, centered tone, excellent range and flexibility, be able to lead a section, play stylistically correct, sight read the notes off the page, learn other musical styles, and become a better trumpet player, I highly recommend Cade to further your studies.

Cade's clear communication style really helped focus the concept of breathing and airflow in a way that no other teacher has been able to teach me. And he is an excellent player.

Lessons with Mr. Cade Calder were a great experience. He really understands how to teach the fundamentals of trumpet playing. We developed a good rapport very quickly and he's really clear when explaining and demonstrating his playing concepts. I would recommend him for all levels of students.
