No matter which subject you decide to choose, know that my overall goal is to help you enjoy it! Whether that involves looking at actual constellations in the night time sky, learning your favorite song on an instrument, or even finding your new passion in cooking, everything is geared towards you! I will always have a lesson plan ready to go, but if there are specific things you want to go over, great! We'll focus on that! All you have to do is simply know what you want to learn, and I'll work on getting us there! If you have any questions feel free to send one to me. It can be about basically anything; no holds bard! Even if you feel it might be a dumb/weird question, I will still answer it with zero judgments. A question is a question.

    Experience

    1st Seat Saxophone

    Aug, 2011 - May, 2015

    Desert Hills High School/Washington Count

After finally teaching myself the saxophone, I was able to ascend to a 1st chair position for most of musical career. With the sax I have gotten to play classical, jazz, and theatrical ensembles. Auditions are done every year so as to ensure the correct person is given the 1st chair. I am still grateful I got so far and always striven to better myself to make the competition work hard!

    Head Hot Order Cook

    May, 2018 - Aug, 2018

    Red Mountain Market

For a summer I got to work as a hot order cook for Red Mountain Market in Ivins, Utah. My tasks involved preparing and serving food at lunch to the customers of the grocery store. I was given free range of product so that I could make whatever I felt would sell for lunch time in the summer! I really got to hone in on my barbecue skills so now summer foods are much less daunting.

    Planetarium Operator

    Aug, 2016 - Apr, 2019

    Flandrau Science Center and Planetarium

I run the planetarium shows! The show content can vary greatly as well as the audience I present to. Sometimes school groups come in and I am teaching them constellations in the sky, or maybe it's one of my regular shows where anyone in Tucson can walk in to learn about black holes. Whatever happens I have to pleasure of speaking to any number of people ranging from 1 to about 150 at a time! I quite enjoy it.

    Jazz Instructor

    Jul, 2016 - Jul, 2017

Micheal Winslow, Master Degree in Music

Back where I had gone to high school in St. George, a summer arts program has popped up. For a whole week, students can come in and learn about concert band, dance, painting, and jazz band. I was fortunate enough to be one of 3 instructors for the jazz band portion of things; twice! My duties were to run the master classes for the saxophone sections as well as go over general musicality with each of the other sections (trumpets, trombones, and rhythm sections). My overall goal was to make sure they were enjoying music and having a total blast.

    Microbiology Lab Preceptor

    Jan, 2016 - May, 2016

    University of Arizona

A preceptor is just a fancy word for Lab TA. My job is to, at times, make sure the labs run smoothly by either presenting the material myself, or answering any questions students have along the way. Each week, the preceptors across all the lab sections would get together and do various exercises to further our teaching skills!

    Sousaphone/Saxophone Player

    Aug, 2015 - May, 2016

University of Arizona Marching Band/Pep Band

While playing sousaphone I got to march with the Pride of Arizona for all football games! Had to learn the movements, the music, and all the cheers to make football games more enjoyable. While on saxophone, I switched my outfit to play at basketball games in the pep band! That one was extra fun because it was an audition position and I had beat out 7 other players for my spot! I got to learn a few more cheers and continue to play loud and proud!

    1st Seat French Horn

    Aug, 2012 - May, 2015

    Desert Hills High School/Washington County

Through the years I helped bring my high school to honor band competitions as well as get myself thrown into the county honor band in St. George, Utah! I played in classical and musical theater settings. Being first chair also gave me the honor of being section leader so I got to help out all the other french horns in my sections. Whether it's giving a tip on a certain expression, or helping overall playing, A good little bit was on my shoulders and I never minded it. In fact, I always enjoyed it!
