Hello! I'm a singer and multi-instrumentalist with professional experience in opera, choral, and studio recording. Originally from Thousand Oaks California, I grew up with a love of the theater and of music. I have completed two advanced degrees in music, graduating from the University of California Santa Barbara with a Masters in Vocal Performance and Magna Cum Laude from Westmont College in Santa Barbara with a degree in music. I have experience teaching in my private voice studio and at the University of California. Whether you are looking to learn to sing healthfully, prepare for a high school/college/post-college audition, bolster your confidence in front of people, or looking to explore your expressive/creative side, I will work with you to achieve your goals. The final goal of my instruction is to equip the singer both emotionally and physically for the act of singing and performance both in music and in life. I realize that some of my students may go on to be professional singers, while many others will not. Nevertheless, my goal is to instill confidence and pride for ones work, nurturing the unique expressive voice of each student and assuring them that it is of great value. Armed with this confidence and knowledge, they can bring their creative apparatus to bear upon all arenas of life.

Brian was awesome from the start...the fact that he actually had be singing out loud in front of someone was a major accomplishment in itself! He carefully took me through some warmup exercises, then on to harmonizing with a keys, and then on to lyrics. I'm looking forward to coming back and building my confidence even more!
