I believe that making music should be a fun and creative experience. I specialize in teaching piano functionally which means helping you to learn the type of music you want to play as quickly as possible while giving you the tools to add your own style to a piece. When a new student is learning music, it is most important to establish a love of the instrument in order to see results. This is made possible by teaching music theory, sight reading, technique, and ear training led by the student's natural interests. I have over ten years of experience working with kids across a variety of settings with one year experience in special needs and four years working in music composition and performance.
