The art of singing has been part of my life for nearly two decades, and I am honored to pass my knowledge on to you. It is my hope to pass on a joy of singing to each student, whether you desire an education or career in music or just have a song in your heart. Below you can read guidelines and procedures to ensure voice lesson success. 2) 24 hour advance notice must be given to cancel a lesson. This policy is adopted to ensure respect for my time and to encourage the student to make voice lessons a priority. To cancel a lesson within 24 hours, please e-mail me or call. Lessons cancelled with 24 hours notice will be rescheduled. If less than 24 hours notice is given, the lesson will NOT be rescheduled and a refund will NOT be given. I understand and am sensitive to the fact that a student may wake up ill the day of a lesson. In such instances, we may be able to reschedule the missed lesson if the student did not attend school that day or has a note from their primary physician. If no notice is given to cancel a lesson and the student does not arrive within the first 10 minutes of their lesson time, I reserve the right to cancel the lesson with NO refund. 3) Students must keep a log of their daily practice time which must be signed by the parent (children 15 years and younger only). I will assign specific exercises at each voice lesson that MUST be practiced daily. This will ensure practice of new technique and diminish poor vocal habits and bad vocal models. This also allows the student to progress more rapidly during lessons. 4) Repertoire selection will be based on students technical needs and level of development. I am open to students singing in most styles, however there will be a strong emphasis on the classical literature because of its fundamentals in developing the healthiest technique. Your vocal development is very important to me. With a daily regimen of vocalises and exercises, you can expect to grow to your fullest potential. *** Studio Equipment *** All students must use a recording device in all lessons. *** Travel Equipment *** I expect students to purchase a few books for vocalises and songs. *** Specialties *** I specialize in the bel-canto technique of singing with a focus on opera, art song, oratorio, and have had some experience teaching musical theatre.
