This was my first lesson. Brian was polite and knowledgeable and was very patient with me. I'm looking forward to our next lesson. I believe with his help he will help me accomplish my goal to begin playing a guitar.

I spent 16 years of my life on a competitive dance team, traveling all throughout California and Nevada to perform and compete in ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical. I have plenty of experience with professional dancers coming in to teach a Master's class, and having that 'it's so easy. Why can't you do it?' attitude, where they simple answer questions about how to do something with 'Like this. You just kind of do it.' Brian is NOT that way. For a couple of months Brian gave me lessons as part of an assignment he needed to complete for one of his music classes. I struggled a lot, but Brian always remained patient with me. He is a very good and helpful teacher, providing weekly exercises, as well as tips and tricks along the way. At the end of the semester, I performed a piece for his music class, and later had the opportunity to watch Brian play, too. He blew me away! Typically, the saying goes "Those that can't do, teach," however this is not the case with Brian; he can do both! If you're looking for a teacher that is the perfect balance between patient and challenging, Brian is the way to go!

After hearing Brian play classical guitar at Loyola Marymount, I was in awe. Brian's passion for music inspired me to pick up the guitar and learn how to play myself. During our lessons, he believed in me even when I was feeling discouraged and he sat with me until I got a handle on the techniques. He is extremely knowledgeable and well rounded and holds his students to a high standard. He encouraged me to always do my best work and I learned so much with him. It is with the utmost respect that I recommend studying with Brian; you won't be disappointed!
