My name is Efraim and I am truly grateful that you are considering me as a future teacher for yourself or child. There are a lot of talented and experienced teachers out there like myself, but between my unique and diverse background and experiences, as well as a different teaching approach and philosophy on education, you or your child will gain in an incredible educational experience like none other. Not only do I have my BA in Music as well as Masters in Music (Voice), but I also acquired a certificate in Electronic Music (Audio Engineering) while living in Los Angeles from Los Angeles Valley College. I not only teach voice, piano, music theory, songwriting, and composition, but teach music software such as Finale, Garageband, and Logic ProX. In this day and age, being well rounded is critical, and a musician who can perform almost any genre of music is not only more employable, but more respected. Unlike most teachers, I teach my students valuable skills that they take with them in the real world, ones that they can use if they do not pursue music as a career or even a hobby. I will teach anything my students want to learn. I do not force anything on my students, especially learning. I do however encourage students to learn music they do not particularly like or want to learn. This is critical to achieve higher levels of performing, creativity, and artistry. Genres can be Pop, Rock, R&B, Rap, Hip Hop, Latin, Christian, Electronic, Classical, Opera, Musical Theatre, Country, and even Anime. Some of my favorite songs come from the movie "The Greatest Showman." If it has music in it, I can teach it! No matter the age or level of the student, we will work together to customize an individual goal plan and students will be expected to perform in a class recital. The recital will involve all of my students, giving them the chance to learn from each other and perhaps hear music they are not familiar with. In the event that a student can't attend the recital, I will ask them to attend any public performance of their choice and submit a 2-3 page paper evaluating the performance. This of course will depend on the age of the student. I accept papers in both English and Spanish. *** Lesson Details *** I have very high expectations of my students and expect them to come prepared to each lesson and continually improve. Hard work and preparation pays off. I also believe in having fun and enjoying every minute of the lesson. After all, you are paying for this. What sets me apart from most teachers is my extremely diverse background and values, and passion for music and teaching.. Students will learn discipline, confidence, expression, stamina, self control, and so much more.
