Hi! I’m a Maine certified K-12 music teacher with over 15 years of experience teaching music privately and in the classroom. I’ve also been performing as a guitarist and singer throughout Maine and New England for the past seven years. I was born in 1972 in Washington D.C. and grew up in Lincolnia, Virginia. I received my Masters in Music from Hunter College in New York City. I offer private music lessons in my Portland home. I've been playing guitar for over 30 years. I teach children and adults of any level - beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Students can learn acoustic or electric guitar, and fingerstyle or pick playing. Styles taught include rock and pop, blues, jazz, folk, country and classical. Sight-reading, music theory, and learning by ear are skills all students will develop. In addition to guitar, I also teach bass, ukulele, singing, songwriting and beginners piano.
