I studied music; violin performance, at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore. I majored on violin and minored on piano. I then spent many years playing and performing professionally in many groups. I played in groups like the Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra and other modern music and classical groups.
Since I also like to compose, I picked up many other styles and learned a few other instruments.
I taught music for over twenty years, being active in the Music Teacher's Association and serving as string judge for the Certificate of Merit several years running.
I teach with the principle that anyone can learn anything that is given in the right gradient and this is what really makes learning music enjoyable; not learning a lot of worthless shortcuts but being able to play well and correctly without a lot of struggle or suffering.
I have been a violin teacher for many years and currently work through the Gurus of Music, giving in home and studio lessons in the Los Angeles area. I have taught many people how to play the violin and teach many different styles of playing. I am also a piano teacher and have helped students of all ages to learn the piano.
