Brian's been very patient while teaching me to perform music. Bless his soul for sometimes I don't always put in the hours at home like I should, but he doesn't let that detract from our lessons. He also has an OK sense of humor.

I have had the pleasure of learning from Brian one on one, as well as watching onstage with one of many bands, Outwest. Brian's ear for melody is impeccable, taste in music unsurpassed and his heart is enormous. He is a great teacher, not only due to his technical prowess on the banjer--which I do believe he has played since the womb--but also because of the enthusiasm and power of spirit he brings to his musical endeavors. Take a lesson with Brian, watch him shred on stage or just talk bluegrass with him in the checkout lane of your loal equivalent to Raplh's, and you'll know what I mean. Brian also turned me on to John Hartford, which changed my life. If you want to play the banjer, take some lessons from this here picker!
