Patience, persistence, practice, party! It's how I teach, and the best way for you to learn...putting in the hard work, and celebrating all your accomplishments! I've been playing and teaching banjo for more than 20 years and love sharing the joy of the most wonderful instrument around!

Brian is a fun, friendly practitioner and teacher of the 5-string banjo. An accomplished songwriter and performer, he's played extensively as a solo artist and member of multiple bluegrass bands.

Brian's been very patient while teaching me to perform music. Bless his soul for sometimes I don't always put in the hours at home like I should, but he doesn't let that detract from our lessons. He also has an OK sense of humor.

I have had the pleasure of learning from Brian one on one, as well as watching onstage with one of many bands, Outwest. Brian's ear for melody is impeccable, taste in music unsurpassed and his heart is enormous. He is a great teacher, not only due to his technical prowess on the banjer--which I do believe he has played since the womb--but also because of the enthusiasm and power of spirit he brings to his musical endeavors. Take a lesson with Brian, watch him shred on stage or just talk bluegrass with him in the checkout lane of your loal equivalent to Raplh's, and you'll know what I mean. Brian is one of the most talented, kind and brilliant people I've ever met. He is an excellent banjo player and instructor and his warm and fun style makes learning from Brian both challenging and exciting.
