Classically Trained for 20 years professional Pianist. Instructor for beginning/intermediate and special needs/developmentally disabled individuals! My goal is to bring out the love and joy of music in each and every child. To inspire and encourage growth in the arts. Being classically trained, it is imperitive for each one of my students to have a foundation of classical music. Learning how to read music and the theory of it as well (writing/bookwork study). Sure we can incorporate more modern styles but the foundation of classical can prepare you for any direction of music you choose to go! I started playing piano when I was 3 years old in southern California, (20 years of playing) competitively winning various competitions and completing Certificate of Merit testing all throughout. I've performed at many venues in California and trained with some of the best in The Ventura County. I started playing violin when I was 6 years old (17 years) also competitively, mainly through the Suzuki Method, which is what I use in teaching violin. I recently was featured playing the piano on Freeform's The Fosters new season! My student lessons are divided with 1/4 warm up- scales/technique etc 1/4 theory (bookwork/rhythm/etc usually towards the end of the lesson) and 1/2 learning a piece of music to polish and then memorize. My ultimate intention is for the child to have fun while learning the basics and fundamentals of become an amazing musician!
