My Name is Brett Kirchdorfer & I've been playing music for over 20 years now, teaching for 10. I specialize in Appalachian Old Time, Bluegrass, Irish, Country, Blues, Folk, & Jazz. Fiddle music and improvisation are my areas of expertise 😉. Open to working on any style one might be interested in as well. Can read, write, & teach through standard sheet music or help by ear & demonstration.
After years of appreciating, studying, & working with a variety of different areas of musical expression. I've developed effective techniques of communicating my understanding of what music can be. I want to help you find YOUR voice. now this comes with studying those who have come before, actively listening and developing appreciation for a great many who have laid tremendous groundwork us. Eventually, through proper & attentive practice, we can link our muscles to our mind creating a vessel for your unique feeling to shine. in turn, allowing your muse to speak through you naturally & effortlessly.
Music is such a personal mode of expression & I genuinely love getting to experience what people can accomplish & create when given means to develop foundation & a gentle push to build on it. I take great joy in sharing what Ive gathered from my years of experience, and pride for my art is no doubt apparent as I take my craft very seriously, though always approaching lightheartedly. I have put in the time, effort and energy & so I know what it takes to develop exceptional prowess. I'm a patient person and take pride in listening and thoughtfully directing simultaneously. I'm a firm believer in that you will get what you put in. If we can understand how to properly motivate ourselves, then we can put more in, approach all angles & yield tremendous results. For those of you who have months or years under your belt, lets cultivate new appreciation and skill, for the rest of you it's important to remember that it's never too hard and one is never too old to start at the beginning.
