I have been playing the cello for over 20 years. Throughout that time I have been taught in many of the popular training techniques, including but not limited to: Suzuki, All For Strings, Alexander Technique, Popper, and Schroeder studies.
In my career as a cellist, I have performed in professional level orchestras in Central California, Southern California, and Southern Arizona. I have also been playing for private events and weddings for over 16 years, playing almost every genre of music imaginable. In my short career so far, I have had the privilege to play for numerous popular bands and record and multiple record albums. All of my experience in practical music applications helps me to inform a student that there is a large amount of opportunities for musicians to play outside of a traditional orchestra. It is important to know that the cello is an instrument that has broken through traditional barriers and is used in almost every genre of music currently.
*** Lesson Details ***
When I teach a lesson I make sure that the student is my first priority and they each have a unique lesson plan designed to focus on their strengths and give them the best opportunity to succeed. Each student that I teach is encouraged to set a goal for themselves that will challenge them without making them feel too much pressure. My goal is to make lessons fun so that there is incentive to practice every day and feel a great sense of accomplishment after every week of practicing and lessons. Even though I know that not all of my students will go on to play cello professionally, I teach them with the expectation that this will become a deep passion that they will cherish for the rest of their lives, just like it happened with me.
