I began taking private voice and piano lessons around the age of 7. I'm classically trained in both. After performing throughout high school, I studied Musical Theatre/Vocal Performance (Opera)/ Piano and Composition in a private college in NW Ohio. I have performed throughout the country while in college, finally settling in Columbus. I would like to help you form your craft into the performer you want to be. *** Lesson Details *** Above all- You should want to take lessons and enjoy it. For Vocal students, you should come prepared with styles of music you would like to sing. Pick your favorite genre and I will incorporate that style into your lessons. You will learn a wide variety of styles, ranging from classical, broadway, opera and pop. I am laid back but will make sure you are progressing with your development. We will work on ear training, tonal retention and sight reading each lesson. With proper breathing techniques and vocal warm-ups, students will be able to hold notes longer and and will be able to broaden their range. *** Studio Equipment *** Front Room: Kitchen table, piano, seating for parents *** Travel Equipment *** A piano or a full sized keyboard is needed for piano and vocal lessons. No instruments are needed for acting. I am allergic to cats. If you do have cats, we would need to make arrangements for the cats to be out of the house at least for the day I will be there. A closed off room that is cat hair free would be ideal. *** Specialties *** With singing- High Soprano. I have a high head voice. Belter Altos- They fit perfectly with my range. Acting-Improv skills fine tune every day mishaps that happen on stage. Diction sells a song. Opera-Dialect in foreign languages can make or break the song. Piano-feeling the tones.
