I have been teaching guitar lessons for 8 years, both out of a storefront and in home lessons. I began with a couple students 1 day a week, and eventually grew my clientele to 35-40 students per week. I have experience and appreciate working with children, teenagers, and adults. They all offer a different challenging and rewarding experiences as an instructor. Musical background: I first picked up the guitar at the age of 10. In high school I became more passionate about music, and began self teaching myself how to play songs and solo. By my Sophomore year I began playing with bands. I self taught myself much of the foundation of music theory, and a few years later studied under a Los Angeles based teacher who helped me connect all the dots and really take my playing to another level. I continued my studies with Berklee online courses on jazz improvisation, music theory, songwriting, and recording. I perform both live and in the studio regularly.

I have been taking guitar lessons from Brennan for three years now. During that time, he has taught me how to connect guitar theory with the fretboard and build on my guitar soloing over cord progressions. One thing I like about his teaching style is that he is very patient and he teaches in a way that drives you forward while also being very fun. Many of his students are very young to people that are retired age. His depth of knowledge of the guitar and Theory allows him to help you learn anything from classic rock, modern rock, or heavy metal. With his guitar instruction, I've been able to gain the confidence needed to learn songs and jam with friends on a routine basis. As in a new guitarist in my early 40s, I would highly recommend Brennan as an instructor who will help you grow while also having fun.

I have been Brennan's student for just about 2 1/2 years and he was by far the best teacher for me. I've improved incredibly because he teaches in a way that I can understand, and he keeps it interesting for me. Brennan himself is an amazingly talented and skilled guitar player. He's familiar with how to play several songs from several different styles of music and can teach a student how to play guitar for songs that they are interested in playing. Personally, when I started playing guitar, I loved 60s-80s rock, and I learned to play songs from The Cure, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd (my favorite), Hendrix, and many others. Nowadays my style of music is different, and Brennan still teaches me songs I love while keeping it difficult and fun with songs from Ozzy, Incubus, the Chili Peppers, and others. In addition to the music, he also occasionally throws in some lessons in Music Theory so you can learn to write songs or improvise solos. In addition to knowing a lot of music and being able to play it extremely well, a major factor that makes Brennan's teaching great is that he will set a good pace for you based off of your skills. He won't make it too easy for you, a he won't make it too hard. He'll make it just difficult enough so maybe you can't quite play it yet, but you'll be able to very soon through practice. All in all, Brennan is very adaptable to each student and has a very effective method of teaching. He will make things fun for you while still pushing you to improve with every lesson.

I started teaching guitar lessons at Riffs Music in Murrieta 7 years ago. I began with 1 student, 1 day a week. I eventually expanded that to 4-5 days a week, and have averaged from 30-40 students a week the past 3 or 4 years.

    Midnight Satellites

I have extensive experience as a performing musician. I started performing concerts in high school, and in the year 2009 began playing professionally. Since 2011 I’ve played over 100 gigs a year, from small bars/clubs, to large Cosplay and Camp Pendleton events for thousands of attendees. I have predominantly played with the group Midnight Satellites/Master Splinter & the Shredders (Rock/alternative/blues/metal/funk) which allowed me to become a well rounded player & teacher (won a Temecula Valley Music Award for Best Rock category in 2015). I also perform with a duo (acoustic guitar), and am an experienced vocalist. 2004-2010 I performed in a heavy metal group called Dark Haven. This is where I really sowed my roots playing guitar. I gained experiencing touring, embarking on three US tours. I am proficient at “sweep” arpeggios, finger tapping, and advanced right hand picking techniques and rhythms.
