Brendan Krieg is a multi-instrumentalist from Vancouver, BC living in Nashville, TN. He is an in demand drummer and has also developed his skills as a guitarist, pianist and songwriter. His versatility in musical styles comes from his studies at Vancouver Community College under percussion guru Sal Ferreras. He completed his degree at Concordia University, Montreal, and since then Brendan has been involved in a countless number of projects and bands, as both a bandleader and professional sideman. Most notably, he has been a core team-member of the international Drum Cafe in Vancouver as well as a drummer for the award winning country act The Washboard Union. He has toured Canada and Europe with the group opening for established country acts like the Zac Brown Band, Keith Urban as well as sharing a tour with icon Dwight Yoakam. In 2015 Brendan took home a BCCMA for Roots act of the Year for his work with the band.
Brendan has been teaching music for fifteen years as a drum/guitar/ensemble instructor. He has honed his teaching style to include a fundamental approach to basic music skills while maintaining a relaxed and positive atmosphere. He is also active as a workshop facilitator, specializing in workshops that are based on drumming and ensemble performance.
Brendan is constantly striving to further his education in music and enjoys traveling to places known for music culture. In 2016 he toured to New Orleans, Louisiana, and studied with legendary New Orleans drummer Johnny Vidacovich, musician John Boutté, as well as current Preservation Hall drummer Walter Harris. He plans to further these connections when he tours to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2018.
