Windy Indie is a classically trained violinist from the West Side of Chicago whose versatility on the musical scale creates an authentic sound derived from her wholesome demeanor. Since picking the violin as her key instrument in her 6th grade music class, Windy has allowed her passion for music to grow into a teaching career.
Since 2004, Windy has performed in many youth classical orchestras based in Chicago. Since high school she has demonstrated talent and leadership skills by being an active section leader of the 2nd violins during her last two years at Lane Technical College Prep High School.
Windy also participated in All-city CPS High School Orchestra for 3 years earning the chance to perform at The Chicago Orchestra Hall, Navy Pier, and a plethora of private venues.
As a current mentee to Chicago Sinfonietta Orchestra’s Robert Fisher, Windy has played in a youth classical quartet for two years governed by members of Chicago's Sinfonietta Orchestra.
Mainly focusing on hip-hop these days, Windy has been proactively participating in City College’s Music Education programs. With sounds reminiscent of Lindsey Stirling and Esperanza Spaulding, Windy has an aspiration to bridge the gap between music and education as a tool to introduce urban demographics to a wider selection of sound.
Windy utilizes her expansive musicality to blend genres such as Soul, Pop, Classical and Folk in order to articulate her vision. With ideas of a Philanthropist and Organizer grounding her, Windy Indie continues to share her violin skills in spaces of like-minded individuals in hopes to connect with people on a universal scale.
