Professional Practice position- worked as a company sample maker. Sewed intricate cotton wedding dresses.

Seamstress

Sewed and repaired entertainer's costumes, both singers and cartoon characters.

King's Island costume seamstress

Worked with Ms. Weisel to develop her line of designer dresses and suits.  I draped and drafted the patterns as well and cut and sewed her samples for her line.  Finally, I made her production for a small number of stores.

Patternmaker, Sample Maker and Production Sewer

I have 48 years experience sewing wovens: shirt weights, coating fabrics and pant weight goods.  I also have professional industry experience making patterns for Jones New York, New York and Company, Ashley Stewart and Ann Pinkerton.  While I worked in the fashion industry in New York, I made women's sportswear, tailored jackets, dresses, swimwear and children's wear.  Recently, I have been sewing knits on the Singer 5-needle serger which does coverstitiches, stretch stitches and overcast overcast stitches for the last 2 years.

If you want to make your first sewing project from a simple pull-on top to a shirt, I can show you how.  Even if you are poised to tackle your first tailored jacket, I have the know-how to help you make an excellent piece. You will have to be willing to be patient and work hard, but if you are willing to put the effort in, I'm sure I can help you do a great job.
