I’m still young, so my qualifications are fairly limited, but I like to say that I make up for it in enthusiasm. I scored a 34 on the English section of the ACT without formal prep (this is my primary bragging point) and I tutored writing and reading in high school. In my friend group, I was usually the person people came to with essays and writing projects. I was a staple in my school's Writing Center as a creative writer and overall language and literature geek, although I was pretty secretive about it back then. I love to write and I’m a great communicator, and I’m always excited to work through new lesson plans and projects with new people. I'm ready to talk with you about your personal learning challenges, and I'm experienced and adept at developing strategies around them. I'm still in the early years of my academic career, but my passion for language grows every day. I hope some day to be a true polyglot and be able to speak and communicate in many languages! It's my dream to meet and learn from as many people as I can, and I believe language exchange is the key to doing so. I'll be the first to admit I wasn't an amazing student in my teenage years; school was a chore and I struggled with attendance, and that horrible melting pot of untreated ADHD and OCD made it really difficult to sit down and study. I was a good test-taker in subjects I was naturally good at, and passed with low C’s in others. I wasn’t even sure I wanted to go to college. Now I'm an English undergrad, and while it isn't easy by any means, I'm proud to say I'm learning to enjoy learning again. Since I started though, I've finally learned how to study and stay on track of my assignments. I found my calling — language and communication — and I found the motivation to follow it. I’d like to help you do the same.
