I have been playing the guitar and taking private lessons for 10 years, and also have playing experience on the bass guitar, percussion, and piano. I recently received my Bachelor of Musical Arts degree from Pacific Lutheran University, with a minor in business administration, and focused my studies on guitar performance, jazz studies, audio production, and business marketing. I am a very laid back person with a fun and creative sense of humor that will fit students of all ages and levels. I have been giving private lessons on guitar for over a year, and love being able to share my musical knowledge and insights with as many people as possible. From basic technique to popular songs, I am able to put together a unique curriculum for all students based on their specific preferences, interests, and goals. I also have experience playing in jazz bands, blues bands, concert bands, orchestras, musical pits, and personal rock bands (currently in a bluesy grunge group called Mister Master).
*** Lesson Details ***
I am an extremely laid back person and instructor, with my goals set on helping you learn as much as possible on a weekly basis. The curriculum is put together based on the student's playing ability, level of dedication, and desired goals. I am kind, respectful, and optimistic when working with students, and making sure to appropriately adjust the curriculum to fit anyone's specific needs. After 3 or 6 months with me, students will have acquired a knowledge of basic fret board theory, basic music theory, various playing techniques, and the ability to start creating personal music on one's own.
*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide my own instrument, paper, and writing utensils. The student is expected to provide, a notebook/folder, and their own instrument.
*** Specialties ***
I specialize in rock, blues, and jazz. I can teach the basics and foundations of the instruments listed, as well as basic to some advanced theory.
