Hello! I've been teaching private music lessons for well over a decade and I've also been a classroom music teacher for just as long. I'm classically trained, but I've played in funk, jam and cover bands over the years. I'm also a songwriter with my own home studio, and my songs have been featured in shows like The Fosters and Eastbound and Down. 

My goal is to get you hooked on music by making lessons fun with a proper dose of challenge so that you sign off from each lesson feeling inspired and accomplished.

My approach is student-driven, so that our time together aligns with your goals. Whether you're a complete beginner looking to play some of your favorite songs or a more experienced musician looking for guidance on improvisation, songwriting or recording, I'd love to get started with you!

*** Specialties ***
I like to focus on basic skills through traditional means (ie Hanon, Czerny, A Tune a Day, etc), but I like to build toward sharing my love of improvisation with the student through various styles such as blues, jazz, and rock.
