Photography with Brandie J.

I have been a professional photographer for over 9 years and graduated with a degree in photography in 2012. I have a passion for what I do and love to share all the knowledge and experiences I've had over the years. I have a studio west of Chicago that can be used to demonstrate lighting and techniques as well as studio and outdoor photography. I teach beginner and intermediate photography as well as the basics of post processing using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Students can expect to jump right in to learning the basics of their camera gear, lighting gear and equipment and functions. Once the basics are understood, we can go over post processing and critique, students will have challenges to complete on their own time to help further demonstrate their knowledge. Creativity and imagination are encouraged, I want my students to feel confident handling any camera gear and understand how to use it. Since I specialize in fine art photography, learning the fundamentals of lighting and composition are at the forefront of the curriculum. Some of the topics I teach are newborn, pet and family portraiture, product and real estate photography. Students can request specific classes for photo manipulation/composites if they choose to take their images to another level.
