-Developed an engaging interactive curriculum for my course, Asian American Music (offered for the first time at UCI), that investigated the history and contributions of the Asian American music community -Designed every aspect of the 10-week course, including preparation of syllabus, lectures, drafting, and grading exams and essay assignments -Integrated students’ creative projects and sound experiments into the curriculum, encouraging them to take creative risks and enabling students to synthesize the course material in their own way -Created a welcoming yet intellectually rigorous class environment, resulting in outstanding evaluations from my students and supervisors

Music Matters

-Developed unique curricula for ensemble classes focusing on improvisation in pop/rock and jazz styles, from levels ranging from beginner to advanced -Taught lessons to students, ages 5 to 19, in piano (classical and jazz), music theory, composition, improvisation, and electronic music -Co-led weekly community outreach music program, bringing workshops to under-resourced communities of Colombo, Sri Lanka
