LAMDA Diploma in Communication, Speech and Drama Education (LSDE)

For the first time in Los Angeles, you can be privately trained to take the prestigious LAMDA acting exams (entry level through Grade 8). Each exam requires the performance of at least one monologue from contemporary times, ultimately working towards the performance of 3 monologues (including one Shakespearean). An examiner is scheduled to fly out from London to LA at least twice a year. Bonnie will prepare you for all aspects of the exam with the examiner. Special guest LAMDA teachers will help along the way.

Bonnie attended the famous Sylvia Young Theatre School while in London and worked her way through the LAMDA exam system. She ultimately earned her LAMDA Diploma in Speech and Drama Education (LSDE) in 2011. 

LAMDA is one of the UK’s oldest and most respected awarding bodies. We have been offering practical examinations in communication and performance subjects for over 130 years. In this time, our qualifications have helped hundreds of thousands of candidates of all ages and abilities to develop lifelong skills.

LAMDA exams are about achievement – recognising and rewarding the endeavours of each individual – but they are also about empowerment. Our ultimate aim is to provide all people with the opportunity to develop the life skills they need to be a success: attributes such as self-confidence and the ability to communicate clearly and present ideas.

I was born and raised in London, where I attended the famous Sylvia Young Theatre School and worked my way through the LAMDA exam system. I ultimately earned my LAMDA Diploma in Speech and Drama Education (LSDE) in 2011. I have now lived in Los Angeles for over 10 years and have had exposure to many acting techniques on both sides of the pond. This ranges from experiences in the theatre world (in off West End productions in London) as well as in the commercial/film world in Los Angeles.
