Miss Bonnie Lyn began playing the violin at age 4, with her dalmatian, Inky. She and Inky would practice together at home every day. They entered into the dog show competition at the nearest public library, and won "Best Trick." Their trick was for Bonnie Lyn to play the violin, while Inky "sang" along.
Since then, Miss Bonnie Lyn studied Music Education at the Oklahoma City University. She is registered through the Suzuki Association of the Americas to teach the Suzuki Method through Book 5 (and counting). She studied with Peter Nguygen, Nancy Lokken, Ronda Cole, and Nancy Jackson. She taught both private and group Suzuki violin at the Oklahoma City University School for the Performing Arts, the Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts, the Community Music School of Ann Arbor, and a home-school group called the United Learning Academy in Ann Arbor.
Miss Bonnie Lyn has taught ages 2.5-88.5 to students of all backgrounds. She enjoys instilling creativity and a love and joy for music-making.
