I am a classically trained guitarist with more than 30 years of experience playing the guitar. My musical interests also include jazz, pop and bossa nova. I have played in several local bands and currently am a member of a jazz quartet. *** Lesson Details *** I am generally laid back in my teaching style as I believe music should be a source of personal fulfillment and happiness. However, I do ask my students to practice diligently. I use a standard curriculum, including Hal Leonard for beginners and right hand studies by Giuliani for more advanced players. *** Travel Equipment *** I can provide a small practice amplifier for electric instruments during lessons, as well as sheet music for some hard-to-find pieces of classical guitar. I prefer students to have their own instrument and to buy their own music books. *** Specialties *** I have been a guitarist for 30 years. My primary interest is the classical guitar. I also perform in a jazz/bossa nova/pop trio. I generally do not use a pick as I have become proficient at fingerpicking.
