Tai Chi Chuan with Bob K.

Thank you for considering me as your teacher. I was certified to teach Tai-chi-Chuan in 1975 by Grandmaster William C. C. Chen and have taught thousands of students at my school on Long Island, NY and around the country. My books, "Movements of Magic - the Spirit of Tai-chi-Chuan", "Movements of Power - Ancient Secrets of Unleashing Instinctual Vitality" and "Heal Yourself and the World with Tai-chi" have introduced thousands of people to Tai-chi practice around the world. My original profession was as a zoologist, working with hundreds of species of animals to study their behavior and movements. (Tai-chi is based on animal movements). I feel they are as much my teachers as my human teachers. In 1984, I was among a few Tai-chi teachers who, under the auspices of Master Jou, Tsung Hwa, began what was known as the "Tai-chi Farm", which eventually became the largest gathering of Tai-chi teachers in the world. I and about 15 other teachers taught advanced training to the 1200 or so teachers who gathered there each year. This allowed me to see the great variety of Tai-chi practices by teachers from around the world and to develop great Tai-chi friendships which have lasted a life-time. At my school, I have been thrilled to see so many people grow more confident, healthy, aware and filled with joy due to their Tai-chi practice. Weddings and great friendships have resulted among the students. To provide even more training for my students, we now are a full, classical Pilates studio and use the Pilates apparatus to help students strengthen and become more aware of proper body mechanics. Our school now teaches only private or semi-private classes. We have found that this is what most students prefer. I would be happy to talk more with you about classes designed for your needs.
