Originally from Texas, Blake Walker now calls Los Angeles home. He has played in many bands performing different styles of music. Blake is passionate about playing the guitar, drums, piano and singing. *** Lesson Details *** My teaching style is based on the concept of positive reinforcement. I want to push you to excel by encouraging your confidence and your belief in your ability. I create assignments focused on your interests. If you are passionate about a particular genre or artist, then that's what I want us to explore. My expectation is that you practice between lessons and be prepared each time we meet. To that end, I place importance on making sure that making music is fun! *** Studio Equipment *** in-home w/ two guitars, electronic drum kit w/ seating for parents *** Travel Equipment *** I can provide a drums and piano in my apartment if students were to take lessons here. However, if I am traveling to their home they would need their own guitar, drums and/or piano. *** Specialties *** Rock, jazz, folk. I think inspiring composition is important and so is improvisation. Composing and improvising is a great way for a young musician to discover his or her voice.
