Music theory is great, but without soul it's nothing. No successful artist has ever made it on technique, virtuosity, and theory alone. They ALL, without exception, also have the feel, groove, and soul. You can learn it, you just have to be exposed to it...a lot, and it's never too late. *** Studio Equipment *** Mac Pro using Logic Digi 03 w Native Instruments, Spectrasonics, Wave, Audio Bro, LA Scoring Strings, East West plugins. I took guitar lessons from Blake for a couple of years as well as having the privilege of playing with him at my local church. First, Blake is a preeminent guitarist. I mean, he is a world class jazz guitarist and composer. Taking lessons from him was a great experience. He is patient and took time to make sure that I understood what he was teaching. The lessons were a nice mix of theory and actual playing. Lastly, I enjoyed how he let me choose what songs we would use for skills practice. If you want to learn Black Dog, he will use that to teach finger dexterity, time signatures, and dynamics! He's simply the best.

I took lessons from Blake several years ago, and was a very demanding student. I already knew how to read music and was schooled in playing other instruments. I was an intermediate guitar player that wanted to be able to sight read/play guitar music, and learn enough licks and blues/rock structure/theory to allow me to improvise guitar solos. Blake took the time to understand my guitar playing objectives, and tailored lesson plans/assignments to help me achieve them. His music knowledge and guitar playing mastery enables him to teach any playing style or music genre. He can teach songs, chords, leads/licks, tab, reading music, music theory, etc. He truly enjoys the process of helping students succeed, and expanding their love of music. He also makes learning fun! Thanks Blake!

My lesson experience with Blake Aaron has spanned many years and has included more than just guitar! Aside from being a chart-topping Jazz virtuoso on the guitar he is incredible with teaching and demonstrating many many styles of music. I love music theory as it applies to many instruments and Blake is truly a master. I've worked with him on total arrangements of songs (including entire horn sections !! ) and he is FANTASTIC! Blake is a Guitarist and a TOTAL Musician...you'll be AMAZED that one person can know all that he does !!!
