- Teaching since:
I am passionate about classical music and about sharing its merits and impact on cognitive development with the students in my studio. I believe learning and sharing music should be a fun, interactive, and educationally enriching environment for all. My teaching gives me great joy, and I let that come through in my lessons.
I have a background in piano performance having studied at Eastman School of Music and Westminster Choir College. In addition, I have attended Master Classes with Yefim Bronfman and Leon Fleisher (Peabody). I have won several international piano competitions at a young age. I use my understanding of the classical performance industry and my skills in piano performance to encourage poise, humility, and to build confidence in my students, which will benefit them on stage (should they choose to perform) and off.
I utilize an individualized teaching approach tailored to each student, showing a deep care and a high-level understanding of each and every unique learning style. I offer a *free* 20 minute learning assessment, during which time I assess what knowledge you and/or your child has of the instrument and how far along you and he/she is in aural training, rhythm training, key recognition, and music theory. I do not use music books, instead, I implement my learning exercises that are interactive and hands-on and combine them with relevant classical repertoire (based on level) to create a solid foundation for musical training.
