*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons are customized for each student's individual needs, goals. I am very laid back, easy going and humorous in lessons but I am very structured as a teacher.
Students work with me for long periods of time because they realize I have a master plan I create custom for them and I execute in a fun and understandable way in a pace that they themselves determine.
I really enjoy teaching and if you would like to study with me I will be your guide in your new musical journey.
If you know absolutely nothing about the guitar, don’t be scared. I am a patient and resourceful teacher with 25 years of teaching experience. I understand that everyone learns to play music a little differently, so my lessons are always designed to match each student’s learning style. I’ll have you playing songs in no time.
Maybe you know how to play, but your learning has plateaued. Or you might have a firm understanding of the basics, but you’re looking to take that next step and really dig into more advanced concepts. I made this leap himself when he went to Berklee, so I know how to move forward once you've got your musical footing. If you need someone to explain theory, or you need help with playing and understanding chords, scales and arpeggios, I can get you there. I know how to take what you know and connect the dots, bringing you one step closer to finding your musical voice.
I give lessons to advanced players of all styles. Whether it’s jazz harmony, classical technique or getting your chops up to blazing speed, there’s always more to learn. I offer the full Berklee College of Music guitar department curriculum, or I can design a customized lesson program for you.

*** Specialties ***
Aside from technical mastery of the guitar, I have a superior ability to teach, to simplify things, to relate concepts and to drive student's interest
I also work as a studio guitarist so I have experience with pretty much any style of music including Pop, Rock, Funk, Jazz, Latin, Classical and World Music (Turkish, Indian Music)
I also specialize in Ear Training (singing scales, arpeggios) and Music Theory and I always include them in my lessons (on top of the fun stuff we play :)
I still teach total BEGINNERS. Don't be intimidated. :)
I highly recommend Bilgehan as a guitar teacher for both beginners and experienced players
When I first went to Bilgehan for guitar lessons I felt I was already good at rhythm guitar but I wanted to learn how to play lead guitar. Bilgehan taught me all of the scales and modes I needed to learn and helped me understand how the scales work with different chord progressions and different styles of music. In the process, he also improved my rhythm guitar playing, which I didn't expect. He also gave me ear training exercises and music theory lessons that improved both my songwriting skills and my ability to learn songs by ear. I highly recommend Bilgehan as a teacher to both beginners and experienced guitarists.
Bilgehan is the most efficient guitar teacher I've ever had.
I've taken a handful of lessons from Bilgehan, and I've learned more with him in one month than I did with previous teachers who graduated from similar caliber schools as Berklee. He was good at finding out where I am in my abilities and prior training, picking up where I previously left off, and then taking me into new territory right away. He explains things very well and is a cool guy. He's punctual and reliable. I'm hoping that a year of weekly lessons will pay off way more than the last four years of lessons, which were good, but this is so far off to an unbelievable start. Thanks Bilgehan!
