I grew up in Sweden, speaking Swedish at home, but going to French school. At age four, I was immersed in a French environment, and had to sink or swim. I swam! In my late teens, my family moved to Israel, so I became fluent in Hebrew as well. I understand a lot about the language acquisition process. While languages fascinate me, and come easily to me, I understand that that is not the case for everyone. I am very patient, and willing to try different methods in order to succeed. I realize that some people learn best by seeing the materials, while others need to hear them, or even sing them! Others need to move their bodies and engage in kinesthetic learning. I facilitate all these methods. I have taught all ages, from preschoolers to the elderly. I have taught in preschools, elementary schools, universities, and informal educational settings (like summer camps) as well as one-on-one privately. While teaching languages, I often include song clips or video clips of stories in the target language. I’m very flexible with timing, and available as often as you’d like, Sunday to Friday.

Bettina has been tutoring my 12 year old son in the Swedish language. She is very professional and kind, yet has expectations so he is sure to progress. There is great communication regarding classes and assignments. We have been very pleased with Bettina.
I just wanted to say that Brettina has helped my shy son Steven learn to love Hebrew and he gets happy when he remembers what he has learned. Bettina is very kind and is always helpful when Steven gets stuck and needs extra help. Steven has a learning disability, and she helps him in a kind and clear way. I like the way she teaches, and it is always a good session. I would so recommend Bettina as a tutor.
Eight months ago our 13 year old son decided he wanted to learn conversational Hebrew after going to his friend’s bar mitzvah. We decided to look for an online Hebrew tutor, and this turned out to be a great option for our family. We found Bettina, who has a lot of experience teaching, and offered the options of learning conversation or Biblical Hebrew. She made it simple to schedule weekly lessons around our son family’s busy school & sports schedules. And her prices are reasonable for one on one teaching. Bettina is consistent, prompt, and communicative. The lessons are engaging and our son looks forward to them each week. Now he wants to take Hebrew as his foreign language courses for credit in high school next year, and these lessons with Bettina have really helped give him a strong foundation in the language. We would recommend Bettina to anyone looking to learn Hebrew.
